Dreimädelhaus – A name with a story

The Dreimädelhaus (Three Girls' House) doesn't bear its name without reason. At the end of the 1960s, Jolanda and Karl moved into the newly built house with their three daughters and opened its doors to guests for the first time in 1970.

What began as a lovingly run private room rental business with a small bar was characterized from the very beginning by courage, solidarity, and genuine hospitality. For over three decades, this was not just a place to work, but a place to live – a place where guests felt welcome, like they were among friends.

From the very beginning, the three founders were not only concerned with good food, but also with creating a feeling: every guest should feel welcome, almost as if they were sitting at the table with friends. Many recipes were created from memories, conversations, and evenings spent together—shaped by tradition, but open to new ideas.

The Dreimädelhaus thus became a meeting place where authenticity counts more than perfection. A place that shows what can happen when trust, solidarity, and enthusiasm come together. These values are still evident today and shape the character of the restaurant—in the kitchen as well as in the service.

In March 2025, the Dreimädelhaus finally opened a new chapter, passing into the hands of the third generation. Doris, the daughter of Edith and Sepp, took over the restaurant together with her husband Meini, continuing the history of the establishment with great passion and respect for its roots. They combined time-honored traditions with fresh ideas, focusing on what has always defined the Dreimädelhaus: honest cuisine, attentive hospitality, and a family atmosphere.

Thus, the Dreimädelhaus remains a meeting place where authenticity, not perfection, counts – a place to arrive, linger, and return to. The values of that time are still palpable and continue to shape the character of the house today: in the kitchen, in the service, and in every single moment of encounter.
